Simple pattern stitches, easy enough for a beginner, combine with color to make a showstopping design.

Yarn:
4 balls Aran (A)
6 balls light green (B)
6 balls green (C)
2 balls red (D)
4 balls blue (E)
2 balls orange (F)
3 balls lavender (G)
1 ball yellow (H)
Gauge:
13 sts = 4 inches/10cm in Stockinette stitch with 2 strands of yarn held together
12 sts = 4 inches/10cm in Seed stitch with 2 strand of yarn held together
Pattern Notes:
Afghan is worked with 2 strands of yarn held together throughout.
Project shown was knitted in strips, then sewn together. If you prefer to work the afghan in 1 piece, using intarsia method, be careful to twist yarns together at color changes to avoid holes.
Work strips with colors as given in Assembly Diagram, then assemble in order shown.
