Very easy and quick pattern that can be made with any fingering weight or sock yarn. Wear them pulled all the way up to your knee or scrunched down over the top of ankle boots.

Shown in Red Heart “Heart & Sole with Aloe” (color 3967 “Congo”)

Materials:
2 balls fingering weight yarn (each ball 213 yds/195 m)

Needles:

Circular or Double Point Needles, size 1.5 US (2.5 mm) I prefer to knit with two circular needles (24” – 29”).

Circular or Double Point Needles, size 3 US (3.25 mm) for scalloped upper edge (lacy part)

Two size 2 US (2.75 mm) Double Point Needles for I-Cord

Gauge:
32 sts x 38 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette stitch and size 2 US needles (2.75 mm)

Size: Teen or Adult Small (widest part of my calf measures 12.5 inches (31.75 cm). For a medium size, go up to size 2 (US) needles. For large, use size 3 (US) needles. Sample measures about 19 inches/48 cm long.

I-cord is woven through eyelet holes near top of legwarmers. Tie into a bow after trying on sock. Alternatively, you may use crocheted ties, narrow ribbon or store-bought trim. For a Scottish look, add tassels!
