I saw the Sunrise Stitch (also known as the Estonian Shell Stitch) in a book and just had to try it. It looks a little like knitted broomstick lace, but is a lot easier to work.

This cowl is done in the round and on certain rounds you will have to shift stitches to the other side of the end of round marker. This maintains the stitch pattern through the rounds.
