Allison Baby Blanket and Scarf
I love the lacy look of this blanket and scarf set and it would make a great baby shower gift! I always try to design baby blankets with lots of texture, perfect for little hands to grasp. The finished size is approximately 35″ by 50″ for the blanket and 5.5″ by 70″ for the scarf. This blanket uses hairpin lace and will thus require a hairpin lace loom (available at most craft stores like Micheals and Joanns). It also uses a join as you go technique to join the four matching sections of the blanket together.
The yarn used was Caron Simply Soft. You will need 4 skeins of Plum Wine, 2 skeins of Pagoda, and 1 skein of Soft Pink, a size I crochet hook, a hairpin lace loom, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends. You can find a free online tutorial for making hairpin lace strips, which includes a video, at http://www.kickincrochet.com/hairpin-lace-make-a-basic-st...
Please note that the dark color is actually a teal though it looks blue in the picture.
If you are only interested in the scarf pattern, it is also available online for a slight discount.
