Marilyn Monroe sang it best: diamonds are a girl’s best friend. A gorgeous gradient (or stunning tonal or solid) combined with textures and lace make a beautiful wide cowl or long loop that is fun to knit and easy to wear.
Sizes: Wide cowl: 43” circumference x 20” wide (110 x 50 cm), Long loop: 83” circumference x 10” wide (210 x 25 cm)
Yarn: fingerning weight / shown in Magpie Fibers Swanky Sock gradient kit (733 yd / 200 g); wide cowl in Rhinestone Cowboy, long loop in Hell’s Bells
Gauge and Needles: 24 sts and 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm average gauge over pattern stitches on US 3-6 (3.25mm-4mm) or size needed to get gauge, plus a knitting needle 2 sizes larger than the one used to get gauge. Circular needle recommended.
Gauge is not critical for this project; a different gauge will yield a different size and have different yarn requirements.
Notions: stitch markers, removeable stitch markers, cable needle, stitch holder/scrap yarn
