The Allusion Illusion wrap is a long, ruched, simple to knit, easy to wear, wooly warm accessory. It’s a meditative knit ,consisting of a few slipped stitch ribs, and an easy slip stitch moss border frame.

I designed this to be long, 72 inches in length, after steam blocking, so it can fall and drape over your shoulders a good length, or to wrap around your neck a couple of times to keep you snuggly warm on a chilly day. You of course can make it as long as you want. Keep in mind the ruching created by the slipped rib column stitches, staggers the length, and creates a rippled, billowing effect as you knit, so steam blocking is an important component to maintain or lessen that effect. Less steaming will maintain the created billowing effect of the ripples and if this is the look you prefer, you may need to increase yarn amounts to get desired length.

Yarns amounts :(cover sample has only moderate ripples) Approx. 800 yards of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool, and 800 yards of Moondrake Co. Chibi. Some testers doubled the Moondrake Yarns Chibi , or their MC yarn of choice, with a lace weight cashmere or mohair blend to gain a ethereal, halo effect.

I strongly suggest use of stitch markers to delineate the slipped rib sections and different colored ones between the bicolor moss border stitches and main body of pattern.

I hope you enjoy knitting this and then wearing it !
