Almina Sweater
This beautiful sweater features a large, eye-catching cable motif that elegantly transitions into a wide ribbing.
The cables wonderfully highlight the front and back of the sweater as well as the sleeve cuffs.
This design was inspired by my Almina shawl that many of you probably know. It has quickly become one of my favourite sweaters… I hope you love it just as much as I do!
Almina Sweater has a straight & relaxed fitting body, boat neck, split-hem and drop shoulders. The construction is worked top-down, seamlessly in one piece. Upper front and back are worked flat down from the shoulder cast-on, then the body is worked down in the round and separated again to the work the split-hem. Sleeves are picked up and worked down in the round to the cuff.
The cable pattern is provided in both charts and written instructions so you can choose which you prefer to work from.
I hope you enjoy the pattern!

YARN & YARDAGE REQUIREMENTS
Designed for worsted weight yarn in solid/semi-solid colours. I suggest yarns with a full body that bring out the cables well defined.
Yarn used for sample: Malabrigo Rios (worsted weight, 100 g = 210 yds / 192 m) in colourway Teal Feather.
Yardage requirements:
1142 (1279, 1418, 1571, 1729) (1919, 2118, 2291, 2469) yds /
1044 (1169, 1296, 1436, 1580) (1754, 1936, 2095, 2257) m
Please keep in mind that yardage requirements are always an estimate based on calculations and will vary with different yarn and/or gauge and knitting style. Make sure you have enough yarn available.
GAUGE & NEEDLES
Please make sure your gauge meets the requirements to ensure a good fit of your sweater. Knitting a gauge swatch is highly recommended before you start. Treat (wash and block) your swatch as you will treat your sweater to get an accurate result.
Gauge on sample after light blocking: 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4“ =
18 sts x 25 rows in st. st. (in the round),
25 sts x 27 rows in cable-rib pattern (flat & in the round).
Needles used for sample: 4.5 mm / US 7
