Almost Random Lace Scarf
This is a pattern, both written and charted, that I have designed so that anyone can crochet a ‘random’ lace scarf. The benefit is that I have done the math so that the edges are nice and even. This makes it possible to follow the chart to make an insert for a garment if you like.
So, now I have to add some warnings. This pattern is not easily memorized. if you follow it, you will have to pay attention. If you want it wider, then it is best to use bigger yarn. It is fun to do, however.
I used size 10 crochet cotton for mine. I have lots of it and I like to design with it (it is so easy to rip out if you want to make a change). You can make this with any size yarn you like (this will affect the width), but you should probably use the hook size recommended on the yarn band as you want your chains, and there are lots of them, to be consistent.
You will need to block this once the crocheting is done. I have included helpful hints for blocking.
