Stalks of blooming aloe vera plants are what I see in the stitch pattern on the front of this sweater. On the sleeves, a similar but narrower pattern. And to add to the swoon factor - pretty eyelet ribbing!
Style-wise, this cardigan is a classic. It’s knit flat from the bottom in one piece, then separated at underarms, and the ribbed buttonband is worked as part of the sweater body. Slip-stitch crochet forms the after-thought buttonholes and stabilizes the front edge. Neckline band is attached I-cord. Sleeves are worked separately and are set in. Cable decreases (love those!) shape the sleeve caps and “full-fashioned” shoulders.
Subtle shaping whittles the back waist a bit. And while the length shown is cropped, the sweater couild be made any length desired.
Sizes listed are of finished sweater, buttoned. Recommended ease: -2 to +2”. Shown in size 32.5 worn with -1.5” ease on a 34” dress form and with -1” ease on model.
