This is a one-skein crescent shawl with a difference. There are no stockinette or garter stitch sections – instead, graceful lace flows uninterruptedly outwards towards the very tips, and downwards towards the beaded diamond border.

Perfect for that single skein of luxury yarn, it was designed with lace addicts and frugal-minded knitters in mind. I happen to belong to both groups (the kind who want every bit of lace out of their yarn!)

Size: 43” along top edge, 115” along bottom edge, 16” height at center.
Size is adjustable to the amount of yarn you have on hand - instructions are given in the PDF.
The dark pink version was made with just 370 yards!

I’ve always had much admiration and respect for the Aloe Vera. This evergreen perennial flourishes in dry, arid conditions and harsh terrain, producing succulent leaves with a multitude of soothing and healing properties. The lace motif in the shawl body is a tribute to the tender, pointed leaves of the aloe.

It seems fitting that the border with its sparkling beads is made of diamond motifs, because to my mind, both aloes and diamonds are equally precious in their own ways.

The shawl is suitable for both advanced beginners and experienced knitters. With elegant lace and simple shaping, this is an enjoyable knit.

Many thanks to Deepa deeni for knitting such a beautiful sample!
