Alohura
Alohura is a crescent shawl started with a clever tab that will get other knitters intrigued on how it’s started. The third picture from the top shows a close-up of the back neck (tab).
The bind off looks like a crochet chain, but it’s done with knitting needles.
There are no rest rows in the lace pattern, but it is very easy to memorize and a good introduction to more complicated st patterns.
The shawl measures 125cm x 55cm after blocking. If you want a bigger shawl, I offer 3 suggestions on how to obtain that.
Skills needed: basic lace sts (yarn over, k2tog and ssk), ability to read charts and Turkish cast-on (a small tutorial was posted here - and is also in the document).
I recommend using DPNs for the first few rows after picking up the sts of the tab.
