This fun-loving color work cowl was designed for my sister, Stephanie. Steph has always wanted to raise alpacas, ever since going to Peru during college. Her dream hasn’t come true yet, but plans are in the works! Stephanie loves bright colors and has three redheaded boys. When I saw this yarn in these colors, I just HAD to make something for her. The construction is super simple, and the color work goes quickly.

The pattern is one size, in a bulky weight yarn, but includes modification instructions for using different weight yarns.

Sample is knit with 3 skeins of Caron Pantone X, in the Living Coral color way, but is a great scrap-buster! If you’d like to substitute yarns, you’ll need about 50g of the main color, about 40 g of 2 contrast colors, and about 20g of 2 additional contrast colors.

I used a 16” circular, size 9 (5.5 mm), but you can use whatever tools to get gauge.
You’ll also need:
stitch markers
scissors

Techniques include:
knit & purl stitches
ribbing
knitting in the round
color work in the round
joining in the round

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
