This pattern is for a pair of cable lace socks and is quite ornate. The cable itself is a Canadian cable that is just perfect for socks, that comes to us from the creative mind of Annie Maloney. There’s enough “give” to make them comfortable, but enough unusual cabling to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit. The back and front are the same until the heel flap.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting and cabling).

The cable stitch is both charted and written out line by line.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge

The sock pictured here was made with Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn, in colorway, Curie.

The socks were expertly test knitted by Gay Fehr, who can be contacted at grf1956@ gmail.com.
