DETAILS
Alpenglow is like a charcuterie board, with a little bit of everything to satisfy your knitty appetite! Stranded colorwork, mosaic knitting, corrugated ribbing and more. This sweater is hard to put down, as you crave just one more row!

This sweater is knit from the top down (meaning you can try it on as you go and add length to suit your own personal style!), beginning with the yoke. The circular yoke is adorned with a stranded colorwork motif, and then you switch to mosaic knitting that is continued thru the body and sleeves. You will separate the sleeves, placing them on hold while the body is finished all the way down to the corrugated ribbing hem. The sleeves are then returned to the needles, picking up stitches for the underarm and worked down to the cuff. The collar is picked up from the cast on edge and worked long enough to be doubled over for a hemmed collar.

FINISHED CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE
While I don’t believe clothing needs to be gender specific, I have received many requests for more of my sweater patterns to have a “mens” version, including broader shoulders, deeper yokes and longer sleeves and bodies. My goal is to include more sizes to fit an even greater range of body types! If you are looking for the “mens” version of this pattern, you can find it here!

SUGGESTED YARN
For this sweater I chose a 2-ply, sport weight 100% wool yarn that is raised, milled and dyed in the US. I chose a tonal/solid for the MC and paired it with the slow color shifting yarn to add depth and interest to the colorwork. I also wanted to add a soft, textured halo to the yoke and cuffs with a cashmere/silk blend - but any fluffy yarn, such as Mohair or Suri Alpaca (or even another color in the same base as your MC) would work great!

A - Magpie Fibers Dyed in the Skein 100% SW American Wool (75 g/300 yds) - 1 (1, 1, 1, 1)(1, 1, 1, 2) skeins Spicy Beaver (orange)

B - Magpie Fibers Plume 75% Cashmere/25% Silk (25 g/315 yds) - 1 skein Lil’ Bit Bougie (pink) or Magpie Fibers Feather 70% Mohair/30% Silk (50 g/470 yds) - 1 skein Lil’ Bit Bougie (pink)

C - Magpie Fibers Dyed in the Skein 100% SW American Wool (75 g/300 yds) - 3 (4, 4, 4, 5)(5, 6, 6, 7) skeins Midnight Train to Georgia (navy)

SUGGESTED NEEDLES
Main: US 4/3.5 mm –24”/60 cm to 40”/100 cm circular & preferred needles for small circumference knitting (such as Magic Loop or DPNs)

(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge. The Ribbing needle should be 2 US sizes smaller than the Main needle.)
