The Alpental Magic Beanie is named after a pretty mountain skiing and hiking area in the Cascades. This compact and easily-stowed beanie is made with one-skein of aran-weight yarn and a simple 2-stitch twisted cable that doesn’t require a cable needle at all. The pattern all but “disappears” when not on your head, looking like a simple seed stitch.

The design features a ribbed cuff and very easy cable pattern, along with simple decreases to fit comfortably. It can easily be made wider or longer with a simple pattern repeat.

The yarn used in the purple beanie is Lama-Tweed by CaMaRose in 6466 Purple. The yarn used cream beanie is Snefnug by CaMaRose in 7314 Light Beige. The Snefnug is a bulky/aran, and the Lama-Tweed is a lighter aran, but the pattern adjusts to accommodate for slight differences in aran yarn weight.

You can find both yarns at fairlightfibers.com.
