While attempting to make Tiny Striped Turtles with a coworker, I noticed that the shells were beginning to look like mushrooms. She got excited because she needed a mushroom to give a new sorority sister during rush week at her college soon. So we decided to abandon the idea of the turtles for the time being (we’d already gotten halfway through the shell before realizing we’d been doing it wrong anyway,) and together we wrote this pattern.
