This pattern has 64 stitches around. It is toe up with a short row heel. Most of the sock is 2x2 rib, and the cable pattern travels around the sock. It would be pretty easy to add or decrease the stitches as a result, if necessary for sizing. The two socks are mirror images of each other.

You will definitely have yarn left over if you use the standard 100 gram (or two 50 gram) ball of sock yarn - should be plenty to come far up the calf.
