These gloves were designed for rock climbers who need to flip-flop quickly and often between having full use of their fingers and getting them warm again.

The button-loop decoration on the back of the mitten flap is a knot called the Alpine Butterfly that is tied from I-chord. (A link is provided to show you how to tie it.) The button that holds the flap down is a yarn bobble.

The gloves as made are small, suggestions for up-sizing them are included.

The solid black mitt was finished with two fewer rounds of stitch reduction and closed by grafting/Kitchener stitch. The orange-topped mitt was closed with a three-needle bind-off. Information for both is provided.
