The Alpine Frost is a versatile cold weather garment designed to keep you extra warm. This hoodie cowl can be worn several ways! The cowl portion can be worn around the neck folded in half, pulled up high over the face for those extra blustery days, or pulled below the hood for milder weather. The generous hood has a double layer that frames the face and the hood accommodates layering another hat such as a beanie (not included in this pattern). Featured designs are a double thick hood brim with a lovely cable pattern, a ribbed cowl, and three sizes.

The Alpine Frost uses #4 worsted weight held double which creates a substantial fabric that is extra warm. If desired, substitute #5 bulky weight yarn held single if it produces the gauge required. Three sizes are included.

Neck opening circumference: 16 (17, 18) inches
Hood: 11.5 (14, 16.5) inches high x 9, 10, 11.5 inches wide
Cowl length: 7.5 (8, 9) inches

Materials
U.S. Size 10 16-inch and optional 24-inch circular needles
Approximately 560 (580, 620) yards of #4 worsted weight yarn wound into two balls of 280 (290, 315) yards each or half that amount of #5 bulky weight yarn wound into one ball if it achieves the gauge requirements.
