Alpine Meadow
Designed for the 2022 Progress, Hope & Happiness Collection All Things Generative, the Alpine Meadow Shawl was inspired by Lake Knit Yarns’ Wild Spring colourway and the theme of this year’s collection. The design and colour invoke beautiful alpine meadows full of flowers which bloom each spring and reseed themselves each fall, year after year after year.
Worked in an asymmetrical triangular shape with increases along the bottom edge, the Alpine Meadow Shawl makes use of front and back loop stitches to create a textured fabric interspersed with bands of lace flower silhouettes. Several repeats of these flower silhouettes along the edge of the shawl give it a lovely finish.
Alpine Meadow is crocheted in rows and from the tip across to the widest point.
The pattern has been professionally edited by crochet technical editor kikelomo of lolalomo.com.
Finished Size: The sample is 80 inches across the top edge and 30 inches deep at the widest point (203 cm X 76 cm) after blocking.
You can modify your shawl by working more or fewer repeats of the textured panels and Alpine Lace insertions.
US crochet terms are used throughout the pattern. The equivalent UK terms are referenced in the table of abbreviations.
