ALPS Headband
The Alps Headband is a classic stretchy headband worked in 1x1 ribbing. It features rounded edges thanks to the tubular technique.

Corresponding to head circumference, measured over the ears where the headband will sit:
- Child Sizes: A (B), C (D), E (F, G).
Cm: 45 (46), 47 (48), 49 (50, 51).
Inch: 17.7 (18), 18.5 (19), 19.3 (19.7, 20).
- Adult Sizes: XXS, XS (XS+), S (S+), M (M+), L (L+), XL (XL+).
Cm: 52, 53 (54), 55 (56), 57 (58), 59 (60), 61 (62).
Inch: 20.5, 21 (21.3), 21.7 (22), 22.5 (22.8), 23.2 (23.5), 24 (24.5).
Material:
CIRCULAR KNITTING NEEDLES:
-4.5 mm for main project (US 7);
-3.5 mm (US 4) or 1 size smaller than main needles, for cast-on.
CABLE:
40-60cm (16-24”), or longer if using the magic loop method.
YARN:
Size & Weight: 5 - Bulky.
Yarn used: blue headband: 100% Wool ‘Berenice’ by Mafil; white headband 100% Raw Wool by Mafil (about 50g and 60m/66y for a size S);
Yardage: approx. from 40g to 60g; from 40m (44y) to 70m (77y).

worked in K1, P1:
Length 10cm x Height 5cm (L4” x H2”) = 20 sts x 13 rows
Ease:
15% negative ease, proportional to each size.
Corresponding to:
-child sizes: 7 cm (2.8”) negative ease.
-adult sizes: 8-9 cm (3-3.5”) negative ease.
