The Altay hat is crocheted sideways around a granny triangle, with an unusual and fun construction.
It works up very quickly and is very easily adjustable to fit everybody’s head size. Optional earflaps can be added.

So fast to make, fun and one-of-a-kind, it is easily adjustable to make it with any weight of yarn.

This pattern was updated Sept 2018 to align format and layout with my more recent patterns.

Instructions are written for 3 weights of yarn so as to achieve 3 sizes (S-M-L):

• worsted weight (such as Kureyon) and a 5 mm hook
• OR aranweight (such as Fashion Trend) and a 6 mm hook
• OR bulky weight (such as Silenzio) and a 6 mm hook

Notes are added on how to customize super easily the instructions to adapt this pattern to virtually ANY yarn.
