Alternating Cables Cap
This cabled cap looks complicated but is surprisingly simple. There is only one cable stitch utilized in this pattern and the cables occur on only seven rows. The cap’s construction is primarily “ribbing” which makes for a very stretchy hat and able to fit multiple sizes.
This cap fits comfortably (not snug) on my head which meaures approximately 22 inches.
This cap is easy enough for beginner even if you’ve never tried to knit cables!
The finished cap measures approximately 8 1/2 inches in length. If a shorter cap is desired, the cap can easily be shortened by eliminating a few rows. I recommend eliminating a few rows in the ribbing at the very beginning at the brim of the cap and also eliminating a few rows between rows 12 and 16 of the pattern. To shorten the length of the hat, you can essentially eliminate any row in the pattern just as long it is not a row which includes cable stitches.
