AlternaTwist is a nice, stretchy hat created using about 100yds of a cozy, chunky yarn. It knits up quickly and will be keeping a lucky head warm very soon. The pattern has small, easy to work cables which will be great for a first cable project. The ribbing in the hat helps it to stretch and fit a multitude of sizes. The length of the hat is easily adjusted by choosing to knit 1 or 2 repeats of the main stitch pattern.

AlternaTwist can be knit flat with some minor adjustments - just turn every other row into ‘wrong side’ rows. All cable crosses will take place on the ‘right side’ rows.

Gauge is 4.5sts/inch or 18sts/4in (18sts/10cm) on size 9 (5.5mm) needles.

Pattern is knit on a 12 stitch repeat and can easily be adapted to various yarns.
