Altitude Cowls ~ Lace
“Altitude ~Lace” is now available in an e-book of three cowls called Altitude Cowls
The mitt accompaniment to cowl: Altitude Mitts ~ Lace
A fun & fast weekend knit in sport or DK-weight using a very easy traditional lace pattern called “feather & fan” knit in-the-round with only knit stitch, knit-2-together & yarn-over from cast-on to bind-off. Use one 50g skein of luxury blend (shown in dusty rose), or 100g for a large, wrapping-twice-around size (shown modeled in light blue). Instruction includes several sizes. A thoroughly feminine and perfectly classic accessory. Extremely easy lace cowl goes fast with very little fuss makes it great for a beginner’s first lace project.
Note: This cowl is endlessly flexible to work in lace-weight to worsted-weight, in any size needle, for compact to open lace textures.
The mitt accompaniment: Altitude Mitts ~ Lace
Prototype rose cowl made from one 50g skein in Road To China Light with 5 repeats and is 7” wide by 27” circumference. Roomy once-around, looks lovely pinned, but could wrap twice being very snug around neck.
Photo of light blue cowl is Isager Alpaca 2, knit with 4.5mm needles as well, a fine fingering-weight, giving more delicate fabric. Shown knit from one 50g skein with 5 repeats and is 18” wide/tall by 25” circumference, a perfect narrow ’snood’ to pull up over head, or scrunch down around neck. For longer-circumference, wrapped-twice and enough length for loose fit, knit with 100g of fingering or sport weight, aiming for 8 to 9 repeats.
I invite Any & All who are knitting Altitude Cowl to bring questions, comments, great tutorial links, and otherwise general Altitude Cowl-related chattiness to my Jenjoyce Group which exists just for knitters of Jenjoyce’s patterns.
