Alton features a basketweave pattern, suitable for men and women. It is worked in the round, up to the crown. The slip stitch ribbing is added after the main body of the hat is worked.
An optional pompom. handmade or bought, can be added. It can be worn with the ribbing turned up, or down for a slouchier look.

The hat requires 1 x 100gm ball of DK yarn Finished measurements - 56cms around x 26cms long, excluding pompom.
