Reinforcing steek

Alyssum is a long cardigan with a flower pattern running down to the bottom.
It is worked from the top down in the round to the end. The steek on the front is then cut to work the front bands. Despite the all-over stranded color work, the yarn used is very light, which results in an easy-to-wear, lightweight cardigan.

NEEDLES
3.25 mm / US3 circular needle for body and sleeves
3.25 mm / US3 double-pointed needles, 15cm /6” or longer for pockets (optional if you use circular needle)
JP5/0 (3.0mm/C-3) crochet hook for provisional cast-on

GAUGE (after blocking)
With 3.25mm / US3 needle,
29 sts and 31 rows/rnds = 10cm / 4” in color work
28 sts and 38 rows/rnds = 10cm / 4” in 2x3 mock ribbing

NOTIONS
Stitch markers, scissors for steeking, small amount of waste yarn for provisional cast-on, and for holding sleeve and pocket stitches, buttons (in required number) the sample used 11 mm / ½” buttons.
