Amandier means almond tree in French. The cardigan is named after its unique pattern that looks like an arrangement of almonds.

The cardigan is knitted bottom up. The body ribbing is first knitted flat, then in the round with added steek stitches. While knitting in the round, neckline decreases are worked and armhole steek stitch- es are added. Shoulders are knitted flat in four parts using the German short row technique for shoulder shaping, before the two pieces for each shoulder are joined. Sleeve ribbing is worked flat separately first for both sleeves. Then, the two sleeves are joined with added steek stitches and knitted bottom-up and in the round simultaneously. The sleeves and the body are then steeked, and each sleeve is seamed before being attached to the armhole. The steeked flaps at the front are tidied up while working on the button band.

Techniques required: The pattern includes both a colorwork chart for the pattern and written instructions. Instructions on Colorwork Knitting, Mattress stitch, and German Short Row (GSR) techniques are widely available on Youtube, so please check them before start knitting!

The recommended positive ease for this cardigan is 8-13cm (3-5 inches).
The sample is knitted in Size 3 on a model whose bust circumference is 93cm (36.7in).

아망디에는 아몬드나무라는 뜻의 프랑스어로 아몬드가 콕콕 박힌듯한 무늬로 포인트를 준 디자인입니다.

해당 도안은 바텀업 방식으로, 몸통 고무단을 평면으로 떠준 뒤 스틱을 넣어 원형뜨기로 진행합니다. 넥라인 줄임과 암홀에 스틱을 넣어 계속 떠주며, 어깨를 네 곳으로 나누어 각각 평면뜨기로 경사를 만들고 어깨를 연결해줍니다. 소매 고무단을 평면으로 각각 떠준 뒤 스틱을 넣어 두 소매를 연결하여 동시에 원형뜨기로 진행합니다. 몸통과 소매의 스틱코를 보강하여 스틱을 진행합니다. 각 소매를 원통으로 이어 시접단을 떠주고 암홀에 연결하며, 버튼밴드 코를 주워 떠준 뒤 스틱 부분을 감춰주며 완성합니다.
