Amas Veritas - True Love Practical Magic
“He will hear my call a mile away. He will whistle my favorite song. He can ride a pony backwards.
He can flip pancakes in the air. He’ll be marvelously kind. And his favorite shape will be a star. And he’ll have one green eye and one blue.”
Young Sally Owens creates an impossible man in her Amas Veritas spell… but clearly she had never met Aiden Quinn!
A cowl to celebrate the movie “Practical Magic” which was filmed in my town… with elements from the spell as well as the film overall.
Beginning at the bottom…
A picket fence with rosemary and lavender planted behind it. Fun fact, most homes in our town are heavily planted with these two herbs…. As they are the only things the herds of deer won’t eat!
A row of gold stars, the shape of his badge.
A row of blue and green.
Horses and cactuses for the pancakes he flips in the air.
Umbrellas used to float off the roof on Halloween.
Knit in DK weight yarn, I’ve dyed limited quantities of kits, but of course you can raid your stash for leftover bits and bobs. Most elements used very little yarn, but the horses/cactus row used almost all of a 20g mini skein.
As written, it’s a generously sized cowl. Could be adjusted by changing needle size. Measures 11” tall and 24” circumference.
