Pattern for an Amazon Sapphire Tarantula Blanket / Tapestry / Throw. This pattern comes with both a graph and written directions.

All single stitch crochet using the tapestry crochet technique (carrying yarn)

You will need 8 skeins of White (A), 1 skein of Black (B), 4 skeins of dark blue (C), 4 skeins of azure blue (D), 4 skeins of beige (E) & 1 skein of reddish pink (F) to complete this project. This is assuming a medium weight yarn with a skein length of about 350 yards/skein.

I recommend carrying the background color (A), Dark Blue (C), Azure (D) & Beige (E) through the entire pattern to keep it even. I would only carry the black in the abdomen and eyes & I would only carry the reddish pink in the abdomen.

I recommend a medium weight (worsted weight) yarn with a J sized hook. The tapestry should come out a little over 4 feet wide (when crocheted with a J hook and medium weight yarn) A border can increase the size and give the project a more finished look.

It is all single stitch crochet. In order to make this blanket you will need to know how to carry yarn (there are great Youtube videos that can teach you how to do the Tapestry Crochet Technique. I highly recommend trying a small simple pattern to practice carrying yarn before attempting a larger project. Carrying yarn gets more difficult as you add more colors.
