Ambiance Sachets
Stuffed with your preferred aromatic plant (for example, lavender or pine needles), the Ambiance Sachet adds a perfect touch to a cozy evening by the fire. Snuggle up with a big sweater and a cup of tea and enjoy this quick project! There are just enough interesting stitches to keep you engaged, without detracting from the cozy ambiance you’ve created for yourself. (You have done that, haven’t you? You deserve cozy craft time!)
Level: Intermediate. This pattern is worked both flat and in the round, using a special crossed and elongated single crochet stitch that is described in the pattern (with a photo tutorial). The border is worked with mesh arches and picots.
Yarn: Approximately 35-45 yd worsted/aran (4) weight yarn. Sample used Lion Brand Re-Spun in Port and Mercury. You could easily adjust this pattern for other yarn weights, just use a hook that is a few sizes smaller than recommended on the ball band. Obviously this will change the size of your finished sachet, but that’s okay! Use that stash!
Construction: The Ambiance Sachets are worked in two panels. The yarn is not cut after the second panel, and a crocheted border is worked around the circumference of both panels together to join them (which means this is a no-sew pattern!). The sachets are stuffed with lavender, potpourri, or the desired filling before finishing the join, and then the decorative lacy remainder of the border is added.
