SKILL LEVEL:

Adventurous Beginner: This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include: simultaneously working with two yarns, carrying yarn up the side, purling three stitches together, and knitting and purling into the same stitch.

Notes From the Designer:

Featuring the Emerging Hues Kit in Resilient Sock, Ambling Way is a simple, rectangular shawl that features alternating sections of Bramble and Stockinette stitch. The playful bobbles of the Bramble Stitch appear to sit on top of a background of Stockinette, which creates a strong, linear design that emphasizes the gorgeous colors of the Emerging Hues Kit.

To knit this piece, you’ll begin and end with a 12-row Bramble Stitch border, while the body of the shawl is knit using both the Bramble and Stockinette stitches. You’ll cast on with C1, and complete the border and first pattern sequence before transitioning to C2 and eventually C3. After the midway point, you’ll return to C2, and then finally end with C1, which creates a symmetrical design.

Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect yardage and size.

The length and the width of the shawl are both customizable.

Pattern comes with written and charted instructions.
