Ambrose Scarf
I initially designed this pattern about a decade or so before I wrote it down. I needed something that I could make in the dark, so being able to work by feel was important. It’s easy to feel your way along this pattern, the stitch pattern is easily remembered, and the self-scalloping edge needs no border. When you get to a natural stopping point, all you really have to do is cut your yarn and weave in your tails, but a row of single crochet on each of the ends gives the piece a lovely finish.
For the example above, I used a K (6mm) hook and about 2 skeins of Paradise Fiber Recycled Sari Silk yarn, but you can use any weight/hook proportionate combination you’d like. That said, gauge is not critical on this pattern. The base chain is worked in a multiple of 4 and it doesn’t stretch much on the first row. If your scarf is not wide enough, make more base chains. If it’s too wide, take some out. Don’t stress this, don’t overthink it.
You’re doing amazing, sweetie.
