Amecameca
Amecameca is a soft, stranded infinity scarf. Warm but lightweight, it’s the perfect self-indulgence to cozy up with after all that holiday knitting you did for others.
Amecameca is worked in the round, and features a repeating motif inspired by Aztec textiles. Charted instructions are provided for two motif variations. All measurements given in both inches and centimeters.
Materials
• 300 yds (275m) of Malabrigo Lace in Color A
• 300 yds (275m) of Malabrigo Lace in Color B
• US 3 – 3.25mm (or size to obtain gauge) circular needle, 9” long
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch marker
• If you prefer grafting the ends of the scarf (versus seaming) you will need waste yarn for the provisional cast-on
Measurements
7” (18cm) wide and 46” (117cm) in circumference
Notes on yarn
If you’d like to substitute yarn, look for a high-quality laceweight that is primarily merino, alpaca, or cashmere, possibly with some silk if you like shine. Choose two solid colors, or one solid and one variegated (two variegated yarns will muddy the motif). Suggested alternatives include Malabrigo Baby Silkpaca Lace and Skeinny Dipping MCN Lace.
