Amelia Baby Hat
I designed this hat for a class to teach people just learning to crochet some new skills. It’s worked in a spiral from the top down using basic crochet stitches. The pattern looks complicated but is made using just single crochet, half-double crochet and double crochet. The pattern includes instructions for the bow to fit all 4 sizes of the hat. The flower instructions are also included for 2 different size flowers.
This hat can be made with any worsted weight yarn. Yardages given are for hat only. You will need a bit extra for the embellishments.
Finished measurements for the hat are as follows:
Newborn: 12” Circumference, 4 1/2” High
3 - 6 Month: 14” Circumference, 5 1/2” High
6-12 Month: 16” Circumference, 6 1/2” High
12 - 18 Months: 18” Circumference, 7” High
Babies come in lots of sizes though! If you need a different size just go up or down a hook size from the one you used to get gauge.
