Amelia Earhart Bomber Hat
by Quenna Lee
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
A daughter’s request for a ski accessory with earflaps and pompoms resulted in this slightly oversized bomber hat. It is reminiscent of the ones worn by the famed aviator, Amelia Earhart. She is a quick knit using a single ply bulky yarn, which creates fluffy, cotton ball-like pompoms.
Amelia is knitted from the bottom up, starting with a garter border. Earflaps are picked up and knitted top down and finished with a single crochet chain strap.
Finished measurements:
Bottom circumference: 24” (61 cm, outer), 23” (58 cm, inner)
Height: 8” (20.5 cm), 10” (25.5 cm, including earflaps)
Written and charted instructions are included.
