This is a graph pattern only to show how I assembled blocks of c2c to make a Carpenter Wheel main piece with several rows of join-as-you-go border. It isn’t really intended to teach you how to do Corner to Corner crochet.

I looked at pictures online of other carpenter wheel quilts and mapped out my own design on graph paper in c2c blocks of 9 x 9.

Depending on the size you desire, you may have to resize the wheel’s main section = perhaps blocks of 5 x 5 or 7 x7 for smaller or 11 x 11 for larger (you might have to graph this yourself). You could alter the number of rows in the border stripes that go around or you could leave the border off completely.

This was all assembled by using join as you go. I don’t have instructions for that, but there is a great YouTube video by Fiber Spider that explains it.

I named it America because I used Navy, Cherry & White from Lion Brand Pound of Love.

Using the number of individual c2c blocks (3dc+ch3) or shells - whatever you like to call them, this is 108 x 92 and should come out to a size that covers the top of a king size bed.
