The pattern is written as follows 12m 18m, 24m, 2T, 4T, 6, 8, 10. All the stitch counts, and rounds will be in the corresponding order to make the pattern easy to follow.
If the pattern does not specify crocheting in the back third loop, or back loop only(BLO), then assume you crochet in both loops.
The main bodice is constructed in a spiral, each round we do not join with a slip stitch but just place a HDC into the back third loop of the first stitch of the previous round. This eliminates an otherwise crooked seam. It helps to use a stitch marker for your first stitch of each round.
Using another type of yarn other than Caron Cotton Cakes may make the top fit and drape differently. Also another yarn may not have the same stretch. You may need to size up, or make adjustments to the pattern if this is the case.
To add a tulle skirt, you do not need to know how to sew. They are tied on like fringe. For more details on how to do this, scroll to the section titled “Tulle Skirt Version”.
Gauge: To make a gauge swatch “in the round”, simply chain 32. Then SL ST to the beginning CH. Work 32 rounds of HDC in the back third loop. Then fold the swatch to measure the 4 inches by 4 inches. We are essentially doubling the stitches and rows so we can get
