Gauge isn’t necessarily important ~ size can differ depending on what size hook and thread you use. Remember to use the appropriate size beads in relation to thread. You can also hand-stitch the beads on, if you prefer.

If you choose to use embroidery floss as your thread choice, the bookmark will have a looser feel to it, and not be as stiff as cotton thread.
