Celebrate the 4th of July in style with this cute stars and stripes fascinator!

This is a pattern for a mini American flag style top hat which can be attached to a headband or hair clips to make a fascinator.

The colour changes are made using the crochet Waistcoat Stitch aka Knit Stitch technique, to make neat lines.

I have used UK Chunky/US Bulky weight acrylic yarn with a 6mm and 5mm hook.

My mini top hat measures approximately 3″ in diameter across the top, 4.5″ in diameter across the brim, and 3″ high.

You can use other yarn weights for this project, but it will change the finished size.
