This dress has a flared skirt and has a low or off the shoulder bodice. It’s cute short with a flower like skirt and very pretty long and a crocheted hem can be added if desired.
It’s easy and fast to knit using worsted weight yarns and for those of you who prefer it you can add rows to rise the neck line.
People have asked for instruction for the shell edging for the long dress, which i did not include in the pattern. I will print it here and also see if i can figure out how to attach it to the pattern.
Crochet edging for Camillia
Working from the wrong side, work a single crochet in next 12 stitches, pull up loop in next two stitches (this would be the purl stitches in the skirt) and chain them off together. Repeat this across and turn.
To make this example as an afghan border or thread edging: (Abbreviations: dc = double crochet, sc = single crochet)
First, crochet a row of single crochet directly into the reverse edge of the skirt. Work edging as follows: Chain 3, 2 dc in first sc, * skip 3 sc, slip in next sc, skip 3 sc, 5 dc in next sc; repeat from , ending with 3 dc in last sc.
I’m not sure if this works out evenly as I am writing these instructions after the fact so if your numbers aren’t coming out exact, it’s easy enough to skip an extra or work one short. Be Creative.
There are many ways to work a shell edging and if you google “crochet shell edging” you can come up with some pretty ones that will work very well.

While we’re on the subject of that long pink dress, I didn’t mention the color changes in the pattern, either, but I worked the first knit row after casting on for the sleeves with the dark pink and then worked the cast off with that color, too. You can make any color changes you like but keep in mind what will work with the pattern. I don’t think stripes or multi colors would work with this skirt.
