Stepping Out!

A fashionable maxi-sweater dress for 18” dolls such as My American Girl, Gotz Little Sisters, My London Girl and similar size models.

I used 3mm needles but use whatever needles give correct gauge. I used a circular needle for the body and Dpns for the sleeves.
Short rows create the shaping for the cabled yoke and the stitches are picked up along the border for the sleeves and body.
Sleeves can be either knit in the round for a minimum of seaming; or knit flat and then sewed.
Snaps on back opening make it easy to dress and undress the dolls.
Knit longer as shown for a modern maxi-sweater to wear with boots and leggings or shorter for a more traditional sweater to go with jeans or a skirt.

The essential item for dolls this year!
