Amherst is a classic triangular scarf featuring a fun slipped stitch pattern that mimics old school tweed. This tweed scarf is constructed using a traditional triangular method, with the increases on the extremities on each rows and the increases in the center on RS rows only, in order to obtain wide wing spans that will show the added tassels at their best. The yarn used is a 100% wool in fingering weight, as this stitch pattern need to be blocked to lay flat. It is a design fit for the advanced beginner, with only slipped stitch used to create the colorwork effect, but with the result of a way more complicated project.
