G A U G E
25.5 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm/ 4 inches, in stitch pattern on 3.75 mm US 5 needle.
Following the chart on page 4 to make a swatch, use 3.75 mm US 5 needle as a starting point for swatching. You don’t need to wash or block the swatch, just steam it, let it relax 2-3 hours then compare gauge. Adjust the size of the needle if necessary.

3.75 mm US 5 or size to obtain gauge for the main body.
3.25 mm US 3, circular needles with a cable suitable of at least 40 cm 16 inches for the neckband and frontbands.

The AMI slipover is knitted back and forth from the top down, in order: Right back, left back, the back, left front, right front, the front. Once finished the body, pick up stitches around the neck to create neckband, pick up stitches along the armholes to create armbands. Finally, knit 4 stripes of K1, P1 ribbing and sew onto the side edge of the slipover.
