⚠ Please note: This listing is for a digital crochet pattern download only, not a physical toy. It is written in English only, using US terminology. If you would prefer UK terminology, please let me know and I can provide this. The pattern will be available to download immediately after purchase. It has been independently tested, and contains detailed instructions with high quality photos. ⚠

ABOUT THE PATTERN

The pattern starts at the top of the head and works down, incorporating the paws and tail as you crochet and creating the belly through colour changes. The ears are crocheted separately. Some sewing is required to attach the ears, along with a little simple embroidery for the stripes, mouth, whiskers and nose. I’ve provided options for either safety eyes or crocheted eyes. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, Eggy Cat reaches a height of approximately 11cm. I’d love to see your completed projects; feel free to share them by tagging me on Instagram @dreamweave.creations or visiting my Facebook page, DreamWeave Creations.

SKILL LEVEL

I have assigned an advanced beginner skill level to this pattern. While the majority of it involves simple stitches, there is some assembly required in sewing components together. Additionally, there are a few colour changes to create the belly and crocheting the tail can be a little fiddly. You must be familiar with reading patterns and understanding the abbreviations and terminology

MATERIALS NEEDED

Desired yarn in chosen colours. The following yarns in DK weight have been used in the pattern:

  • Light brown for body and paws
  • White for belly
  • Small amount of darker brown for embroidered stripes and stripes on tail
  • Tiny amount of pink for inner ears

You will also need the following embroidery thread or yarn:

  • Tiny amount of black for embroidering mouth and whiskers
  • Tiny amount of pink for embroidering nose

If you are opting for crocheted eyes, you will also need a tiny amount of black and white. I used a thinner yarn for this (5 ply / sport weight) along with a slightly smaller hook. You can use the same weight yarn but they will turn out slightly larger than in the photographs.
10mm safety eyes if not opting for crocheted eyes
Toy stuffing
2.5mm crochet hook
Scissors
Pins
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle

You will also need the following embroidery thread or yarn for both kittens:
