This is an easy pattern suitable for beginners looking to learn some new crochet techniques. The majority of the pattern is worked without joining; placing a stitch marker in the top of the first st to mark start of round.

YARN:
This project doesn’t use much yarn at all probably about 20-30 g
I used very fine light grey 2ply, tread, cotton yarn.

SIZE:
My finished elephant measured approximately 2 1/5 inches high / 6 cm high
If you prefer to make your elephant bigger just use thicker yarn either cotton or acrylic (please note that you will probably need a bit more yarn depending on the thickness).
This pattern will work in other yarns though gauge/size will be different.

HOOK:
1.75 mm steel tread hook
Note: If you making your elephant using thicker yarn use hook that is recommended for this yarn
