⚠ Please note: This listing is for a digital crochet pattern download only, not a physical toy. It is written in English only, using US terminology. If you would prefer UK terminology, please let me know and I can provide this. The pattern will be available to download immediately after purchase. It has been independently tested, and contains detailed instructions with high quality photos. ⚠

ABOUT THE PATTERN

The pattern starts from the top of the head and works down, incorporating the arms and feet as you crochet. The hair and dress are crocheted directly onto the body. The hat and broomstick are then crocheted separately. There is some sewing required for attaching the eyes and hat and a little simple embroidery for the mouth. I’ve provided options for either safety eyes or crocheted eyes. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, Eggy Witch reaches a height of approximately 20cm (with hat). SKILL LEVEL

I have assigned an advanced beginner skill level to this pattern. While the majority of it involves simple stitches, there is some assembly required in sewing components together and a little embroidery for the mouth and eyelashes. Additionally, there are a few colour changes and some trickier techniques which involve crocheting into the front or back loop only and the accessories are a little fiddly. However, these are all fully explained within the pattern. You must be familiar with reading patterns and understanding the abbreviations and terminology.

MATERIALS NEEDED

Chosen yarn in desired colours. The following yarns in DK weight have been used in the pattern:
For the witch:

  • Green for skin colour
  • Purple for dress, hat and boots
  • Black for hair, belt and tights
  • Small amount of gold for buckles
  • 2 shades of brown for broomstick
  • White for tights and eye whites
  • Tiny amount of black embroidery thread or yarn for embroidering mouth and eyelashes - I used 3 strands of embroidery thread
  • If you are opting for crocheted eyes, you will also need a tiny amount of black and white. I used a thinner yarn for this (5 ply / sport weight) along with a slightly smaller hook. You can use the same weight yarn but they will turn out slightly larger than in the photographs.

To make a black cat, you will also need:

  • Black for body
  • Orange for hat
  • Small amount of gold for buckles
  • Tiny amount of white yarn or embroidery thread for embroidering mouth and whiskers (and eyes if opting for embroidered eyes) - I used 3 strands of embroidery thread
  • Tiny amount of pink yarn or embroidery thread for embroidering nose - I used 3 strands of embroidery thread

10mm safety eyes (optional) for witch
10mm yellow safety eyes (optional) for cat
Toy stuffing
2.5mm crochet hook
Scissors
Pins
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle

For Mini Eggy Kitten you will also need:
- Chosen yarn in desired colours. The following yarns in DK weight have been used in the pattern:

  • Purple for body
  • White for belly
  • Small amount of yellow for embroidered stripes and stripes on tail

For the laying-down kitten:

  • Orange for body
  • Small amount of red for embroidered stripes and stripes on tail

You will also need the following embroidery thread or yarn for both kittens:

  • Tiny amount of black for embroidering mouth and whiskers (and eyes if opting for embroidered eyes) - I used 3 strands of embroidery thread
  • Tiny amount of pink for embroidering nose - I used sport weight / 5 ply yarn
