Gauge is not necessary to complete the pattern, as long as your stitches are tight enough to hide the stuffing.

Pattern calls for 2 5mm safety eyes, polyfil/stuffing, scissors, tapestry needle for finishing, caron simply soft for the body (approx. 30g), i love this yarn (a very small amount for the leaves) and I used a size D/3.25mm hook, but I wanted a very dense fabric for the piece, you can make it softer by using a E or F hook.
