Amigurumi Rhino
This pattern is no longer available.
You can buy a reworked, simplified version of this pattern here https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ruby-the-rhino-2
The rhino is worked entirely in spirals, using foundationless stitches, magic ring and invisible decreases.
The written pattern is in UK terminology, but since only the double crochet is used it is easy to convert to US terminology. Simply use single crochet throughout.
You will need
4 balls of Vinnis Colour Nikkim 100% Cotton Yarn in colour way Slate (540). (If the yarn is substituted, choose one that does not stretch, as this will impact the shape of the rhino. Using yarn of a different weight will change the size.)
3.5mm and 4mm crochet hook, or appropriate size for correct tension
One pair of 12mm safety eyes
1 safety pin used as a stitch marker
Black and red embroidery cotton
One large red heart button
Fibrefill
A thin piece of plastic, such as an ice cream container lid, cut into 4 circles with a 6cm diameter
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
NOTE:
There was a slight error with the feet in the published pattern, this has been corrected in the online version.
