Amigurumi Snowy Owl
Hi there! This Amigurumi Snowy Owl is worked in a
continuous spiral, using a stitch marker, or an extra piece of yarn to mark the beginning and end of each row. All of the stitches should be worked through both loops, unless otherwise noted.
It works up to be about 13” tall, and it very soft and snuggly!
Materials
Yarn:
200 yards super bulky gauge 6 yarn. (I used 1 skein of white Bernat Blanket yarn)
4 yards black, medium weight worsted yarn (eyes, beak, talons)
2 yards white fingering weight yarn (highlights in eyes)
115 yards yellow, medium weight worsted yarn (eyes and feet)
Crochet Hooks:
P 11.5 mm
G 6-4.25 mm (making the eyes, nose and feet)
Additional:
Yarn needle
Scissors
1 Pair black or white nylons (Large & cheap nylons are best, as they stretch well and hold lots of fiber fill. I get mine at the dollar store )
Fabric pins (for assembling)
(1) 24 oz bag of fiber fill
If you want to make a smaller owl out of worsted weight yarn, you will have to also find a very light weight of yarn with which to make the eye, nose, and feet (so keep that in mind when adjusting the pattern) Of course you will also need to use a smaller hook size!
